Purchasing Pet Safe Patio Furniture Cushions

Bringing a new pet into your home can be a very exciting time. This is a new little life that you're going to be in love with and is going to love you unconditionally back. But, in addition to the fun and joy of having a new family member, you also need to make sure that you've taken the proper precautions throughout your home to keep your pet and your furniture both happy and healthy.

Most people who are getting a new pet walk around inside their house and consider any problems that could be caused with a new pet. They look at anything that could break or ways to protect their furniture and other items from getting messy or damaged by the new addition to the family. But quite often that's where they stop their pet preparing process. They forget to take a step into the out of home entertaining area, or patio.
Now you may be thinking that the patio has outdoor furniture that's meant to put up with the elements and anything else asked of it. Well, that would be true, however, that still doesn't mean it's safe for your pet to use. You see, pets can damage your patio furniture in three ways. The first is by the smell they give off that could sink into your patio furniture cushions. The second is by the hair they're going to shed that can get stuck on and in your furniture and make it look less attractive. And the third is that those claws that they have at the end of those paws can be quite damaging to many types of fabric.

So how do you keep your patio furniture and your pet living well together? Well, part of the answer may be in making sure that the patio furniture cushions that you have can handle the threats your cat brings to the table. When it comes to the smell of your new dog, you won't notice it right away. Most dogs do have a bit of a scent. This can become more pronounced if you give them a bath or let them play in the pool or other body of water.
If they jump on your patio furniture while they're a little smelly, that smell can sink into the fabric of the furniture as well as the cushion. The best way to counter this is to make sure that you have washable cushions in place so when you start to notice that smell, you can remove the cushion covers and toss them in the washing machine and then wash out the cushions, making them seem like new again.

The next thing you have to deal with this all that pet hair. Almost all pets shed, some more than others. The problem becomes when their hair gets on your furniture. It doesn't always sit on the top of the furniture so you can brush it right off. Sometimes, it seems to embed itself in the furniture so deeply that the only way to get rid of it is to pick each hair out individually. The other option is to have very unattractive furniture. Instead, as you're shopping for patio furniture cushions the next time, look for a material that is resistant to this type of problem. You want to avoid materials with thick textures as those in grab all of the fallen pet hair more readily than a smoother and sleeker material.v

And finally you want to avoid your dog's nails from doing damage to your furniture. Generally, what this means is making sure that you have heavy-duty material that your patio furniture covers are made out of. This way, their nails will not be able to easily dig through the material and rip it.
